In 1997, the project was undertaken of publishing a series of volumes about aspects of the monumental complex belonging to the Opera della Metropolitana, entitled Quaderni dellčOpera (Notebooks about the Opera). Four volumes have appeared to date, and a fifth is due before the end of 2005. Editors of the Quaderni are the rector of the Opera della Metropolitana, Mario Lorenzoni, and the scientific director, Prof. Roberto Guerrini. A new series of studies and research has also been initiated under the direction of Rector Lorenzoni, with the active collaboration of Prof. Paolo Nardi, responsible for the historical section, and Prof. Guerrini, responsible for the philological and art-historical section. Two volumes have already been published: in 2004the translation of the work by Walter Bradmuller on the Council of Pavia and Siena, and in 2005 the papers from the international study seminar on the inlaid floor of Siena Cathedral, held in Siena in the church of the Santissima Annunziata on 27-28 September 2002.
